Crewkerne 10k Run - 20th May 2012
Stokes Partners LLP solicitors are sponsoring the new Crewkerne 10 kilometre road race organised by Crewkerne Running Club due to take place on Sunday 20 May 2012, starting at 10am at the Town Hall, Market Square. The new 10 kilometre race replaces the former Crewkerne Nine Mile Race which has been held in the town for over 30 years. It is hoped that the shorter and more easily achievable 10K distance will appeal to more local people. The new route will take runners through the villages of Merriott and Hinton St George where there is plenty of opportunity for spectator support. There is also a 5 kilometre fun run and junior run and local schools are being encouraged to support the event.For the third year running Stokes Partners LLP are also promoting the “Business Challenge Trophy” which takes place at the same time as the main event but over the 5K distance. The Business Challenge is open to teams of three (men/ladies/mixed) from local businesses who are invited to take part and join in the friendly competition and can take the opportunity to raise their own profile by wearing corporate T-shirts, etc. Proceeds from the event go to charity.
2012 being an Olympic year is motivating more people to get active and healthy through exercise. Stokes Partners LLP anticipate the event will be bigger and better than before with more runners and more Business Challenge Teams taking part.
