FAMILY LAW
Family law is unlike any other area of legal work. Those needing family law advice and support are often going through one of the most challenging personal situations they will ever encounter.
Whether they have chosen to end their relationship or not they will be facing significant changes in their life; changes that will be practical, financial and emotional. They need expert legal advice coupled with support and empathy as they try and make long term decisions about their future.
Our family team has an exceptional reputation for handling family law work at all levels. Our family law solicitors understand that our clients need our care and support as well as our legal expertise. Between us we have over 100 years experience in family law work. We look after anyone who needs our help whatever their financial status. We have extensive experience in dealing with family law issues involving farms, businesses and pensions. We recognise that the advice we offer must be realistic, pragmatic and cost effective. We will do all we can to help our clients resolve their issues in a non confrontational way but at the same time know that litigation cannot always be avoided. Our focus is on achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients at the lowest possible cost, both financial and emotional. Whether your issues are being settled by agreement or through litigation you can be sure that our service will be robust, supportive and efficient.
In addition to helping families resolve issues that arise when relationships break down we’re also expert in helping them take steps that can minimise the difficulties that could occur if a relationship fails. Using our family law expertise in conjunction with financial planning can save significant financial and emotional costs at a later date.
All the members of the legal team are members of Resolution which is a national organisation of specialist family lawyers. Two members of the legal team are accredited members of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel and one is an accredited specialist with Resolution. We can offer mediation or work with clients within the Collaborative Law process. We have experience too in helping clients through arbitration as an alternative means of resolving issues.
